I just use tor browser. There's no way to know if a vpn is actually logging or not.

I use NordVPN, has been working great, and they always have sales or you can get discount codes

I haven't been using one, but sometimes when I want to access certain livestreams they are geo-locked, so I probably should start looking into them more. I do know that if you want to travel to China you absolutely should use one to maintain your digital privacy, as well as have access to banned websites.
