"You're a loser for using forums"

Agreed with @Noot
I don't really discuss what I do online, with people I speak to IRL, I like to keep the two things separate, almost as they're two completely different lives. However, funny enough, I'm very open to discuss by IRL life with people on the internet.

What I don't get though, is why someone would be considered a loser for using a Forum? They are still very common and very popular. I think the person you spoke to might of had the wrong idea. Do you ever tell them what it is you like about forums? They may not be very familiar and perhaps have bad experience in regard of forums, which makes them keep away from them. Perhaps if you try to explain it a bit.

Either that, or do like most of us, keep it to yourself.

I'm on a lot of forums and I've met some really nice people over the years, some of which I consider better/closer friends than most of my irl friends.

If anyone ever told me I'm weird for being on forums I'd tell them to educate themselves what forums are all about.
The greater the difficulty, the greater the glory.

They think it is weird because I talk to a lot of people on forums. They think it means I have no IRL friends, and it is so annoying. I talk to people over Skype or on forums or something like that because these people I can relate to. These people have similar interests in me, and I actually enjoy talking them opposed to my friend, who yesterday said that uses these forums have no life. Like, um yeah right pal. The thing is, I do have enough friends I know in person.

If you have a ton of internet friends, it means NOTHING compared to the number of friends you have in real life.
And, it doesn't mean you are lonely or can't relate to people in person if you talk to people on the internet.

That stereotype of the "internet geek" with no friends needs to stop, because it is so annoying.
And, it is false.

Idek if that made sense but I had to post it.
