Hello peeps. I have heard the term civil ceremony quite a few times. I'm unaware of it, so can any of you tell me what it means?

A civil ceremony in Los Angeles is just like a regular wedding ceremony performed by a government official and recognized as a legal ceremony by the government but without the involvement of any religious activities. Civil marriage ceremonies are becoming more common in couples who don't follow any organized religion. To perform a civil wedding ceremony, a license must be obtained to allow you to hold your civil wedding ceremony. A significant requirement for a civil wedding ceremony is that the bride and groom must be at least 18 years old, or the government will not let them hold the wedding ceremony.
