Understanding a VirusTotal Scan? - Question

Ok, so I've not been able to properly understand if a VirusTotal scan for malware is ok to post or not. I know there will be detections for the scan, but how can I tell if the scan shows a detection that means it's not safe for use or safe to post on the forum?

Could someone help me?

I use reverseit. as it is much better than virustotal. other than that it is mostly up to the person downloading it if they want to trust it or not.

I'll check it out. Thanks for the advice.
I just finished setting up my VM, so I'm going to use that and just sandboxie everything I plan to put out and see what happens.

There are commonly about 5 anti-viruses that think everything is a virus. If there are more than about 15 detections I probably would avoid downloading
