IP whitelist verification and account authentication are two different authorization authentication methods. The main difference between them lies in the control method of the device or terminal using the proxy.

IP whitelist verification is a restrictive authentication method that only allows devices with specific IP addresses to access a certain device. Within the whitelist, devices with authorized access can use the proxy without restriction, while devices not in the whitelist cannot use the proxy. The advantage of this method is that it can clearly control which devices can use the proxy. For hosts with fixed IP addresses, it can be set up once, which is very convenient.

Account and password authentication is another authorization authentication method. Users need to enter their account password for verification when using the agent. Account authentication does not limit the IP address of the device using the proxy. That is to say, any device with an IP address can use the proxy, but all need to perform account authentication first. The advantage of this method is that it is flexible and suitable for users whose host IP is not fixed. There is no need to change the bound IP address.

Each of these two authorization methods has its own advantages, and you can choose the appropriate method according to specific usage scenarios and needs.
