MC Factions - Are They Fun?

Have Minecraft factions died severely over the last couple years? I remember playing them when I was younger and there were always so many active servers with booming communities. If anybody could post up any dope faction servers I should peep, please post them up in here. Also if you can speak upon the livelihood of minecraft as of now, please don't be afraid to speak up I am very interested.
