Compilers

Pretty new to coding, and I was wondering what compilers most people in the coding world use for their code? Would be helpful if you could list some pros and cons of your preferred compiler

I wish you added more to your question, like the platform or the language you are working with.

Below are my preferences for the languages I need a compiler for:
Java Windows or OSX: Oracle JDK
C++ on Mac: I just love what comes default with XCode
C++ on Windows: I like MINGW, perhaps because its GCC based.
