People made Area 51 look like there was aliens, because it was all secrets, and people thought that they had aliens, and other mythical creatures. It is only false and people who believes that Area 51 got aliens are stupid, because otherwise there would be aliens everywhere and not just Area 51.

I don't really think it matters if they have any sort of aliens or not. Though it does seem unlikely. It's mostly R&D.
