Wanting a unfair or even slightly upperhand advantage in video games is nothing new. but for some people it is more than that. it is the so called bragging rights and possible profit from the achievement of exploiting a consumer home gaming console such as a Xbox. Many things must be done to allow 3rd party code to be loaded and executed. Xbox 360 being Exploited to allow third party code gave the 360 the ability along with the Xbox 360 SDK to make awesome plugins to modify every aspect of what the 360 looks like and does. Cool right? Yeah, it's way more than that, all the videos of mod menu's you see and aimbot and money drops, and being able to modify ram (active memory, used to store variables such as rank, money, xp, etc) is all possible through exploiting a gaming console to allow the running of code not normally permitted to run, like plugins, unlicensed games, and third party apps. The Xbox One has undergone several groundbreaking achievements in the progression towards the full exploitation of the newest gaming console. 

Prepare & Tips

As for most recent gaming consoles that were able to be fully exploited to allow third party code to be executed; the oldest of the generation was exploited first. the phat 360 console's aka JTAG, depending on the motherboard. Depending on the motherboard of the console some exploits did not work so they required a different exploit like RGH, or a variation of a exploit RGH 1.2. With that being said, keep in mind the older Xbox Ones are MOST likely to be exploited first, it wont be all of them at first unless the unlikely situation where all the motherboards were exploitable by the same exploit. I personally have the white Gears of Wars (Phat) Xbox One. It would also be of interest to some to go ahead and download the Xbox One SDK which was leaked by the H4LT team. Scam & Virus Warning

Any website or person claimed to have, posses, or sell and exploit to get any kind of modification to your xbox one software is trying to spread a virus or scam you. I repeat, There is NO public exploit for the Xbox One Software Nor Hardware to allow unsigned or third party code. this includes modification of games on the Xbox One (other than back-compat games {these can be modified on 360}), It's simply not possible.... yet. ;)

The SDK was leaked
The encrypted NAND was dumped
Someone released a NAND Parser to extract binarys
Someone installed Linux
Someone ran a Pokemon ROM in Linux
