Fornite is a great free to play battle royale, and that's why it's so popular.
It took what good features other similar battle royales had, and mashed it up into a free game. Everyone loved it and that's how they made profit, by making the game free, and letting users buy "V-Bucks" to get in-game items.
I'd say it's a pretty terrible game, but others would say different.

The PS4 players only play against PC players when they're partying with a PC friend. They get to play with their friends at the cost of having a disadvantage.
