The Ministry of National Defense (Vietnamese: phòng nước Cộng hòa xã hội chủ nghĩa Việt Nam, literally "Ministry of National Defense of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam") is a government ministry of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam that manages, coordinates, and supervises military affairs, including all military units, paramilitary units, and similar bodies in the country. The Ministry's main office is located inside the ancient Hanoi Citadel. The ministry operates in accordance with the Constitution and Laws of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, ideologically under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the unified State management of the Government of Vietnam.
