Google has created a new alternative for those who want to preserve the content for later reading.

The new feature is an addition to Google Chrome, which is similar to applications like Pocket.

By OMG! Google Chrome has reportedly issued this feature without much fuss, but said that the new function is very useful for locating and storing your favorite content online.

Furthermore, Favorite Web pages can be stored in a central location. To save your favorite content, you only need to click on the star icon, and then you can return to browsing the content by clicking on google.com/save.

I've been using this addition ever since a couple days ago, but it doesn't look like something necessary or even beneficial when compared to bookmarks.
