Really depends on what you want but I do believe that in the end laptops will be the primary working machine for any company. Or tablets? Any way I think a Laptop has more allround use.

laptop for portable, desktop for more power. I would choose desktop.

Both of course but desktop is simply better hardware due to no size constraints and better cooling
