This happens at a lot of other places other than Jiffy Lube as well.

Absolutely. All you really need these days is YouTube and Google and you'll be able to find all the answers yourself. Learn the basics such as:

-Changing a tire
-Changing a battery
-Checking the servicing levels and replacing them (Oil, Transmission, Windshield Wiper, Coolant, Power Steering, etc.)
-Changing an air filter
-Changing an oil filter

Learning to do these yourself saves you a lot of time and money. Not to mention, if your friends don't know how to do it you could always charge them a servicing fee including parts and labor.
