if you're talking about: gethostbyname("127.0.0.1"). 
Then for xbox you would want to take a look at NetDll_XNetDnsLookup.

Now I have a problem, when I connect it gives me an error of waiting time exhausted, what can I do in that case?

it gives me the error 10060 when I try to connect the socket
