there's a pretty high probability of it if you consider the rate of technological advance we're currently at, what kinds of intelligence we can currently simulate, and where we're headed. If we're not in a simulation, we'll soon be the ones making it.

Thought about it once or twice, it’s possible especially with some of the science behind it and it’s an alternative look to our own logic. We may never know, just wait till we can make our own and our simulation starts making their own simulations.
